Port of Plymouth
Please remember that Plymouth is a Naval/Commercial Port, shipping movements can be frequent and must have priority. Boats, at all times, must keep clear of ships leaving or entering the port and obey instructions from the Race Committee where avoiding action is necessary. Failure to obey Race Committee instructions may be treated as misconduct.

Information for Competitors
Arrival, rigging and car parking
The venue is located at 70 Lawrence Road, Mount Batten, PL9 9SJ.
Competitors should proceed with their dinghies to the briefing area to unhitch (highlighted green on map below). Dinghies (and road bases) can be moved into the HPSC Dinghy Compound 'Miden Yard' (highlighted brown on map below).
Parking
Parking on site is restricted. Vehicles left on site will recieve an enforcement notice. Cars should be moved to the free public car park across the road. (highlighted blue on map below).
Breifing
A competitors briefing will occur at 09:30 on the day of the event with the race officer, outside of the HPSC dinghy compound (highlighted green on map above).
Launching
Launching will occur from the Mount Batten Eastern slipway, which is a public slipway and can be busy at periods.
This can be accessed from the HPSC dinghy compound through the Mount Batten Centre dinghy stored (following red arrows on the map above).
Launching trolleys should be placed to the side of the slipway, in a tidy fashion and condensed as much as possible to allow free use of the slipway by others.
Sailing to race area
Once launched, competitors should sail around the Mount Batten Peninsula towards the Mount Batten Breakwater. The race hut is positioned on the end of the Mount Batten breakwater, and the start line for the Plymouth Pounder will be between the race hut flagpole and the West Mallard buoy (approx. location on the map).
Please note there is ongoing pontoon work happning at Mountbatten please provide plenty of space when passing.
Information for spectators
The race can be watched fromt he end of mountbatten breakwater by the start hut. There is a coffee shop on the round about by the breakwater. The Mountbatten Hotel is also near by.
More sceinic views can be had from Mountbatten Tower or JennyCliff which is a short drive or 15 minute walk away. There is a cafe at Jennycliff.
